Studio Bell represents an exciting partnership between NMC and Bell, Canada’s largest communications company. This partnership supports NMC’s vision to connect with music lovers across Canada and to create an international hub for music and technology.

This brand new 160,000 square foot facility is devoted to celebrating the power of music and exploring the story of music in Canada. An international hub for music and technology, the venue has won multiple design awards and has already been featured on Amazing Race Canada.

Designed by award winning Brad Cloepfil of Allied Works Architecture, The Studio Bell project reflects the emergence of a new Calgary. The ambitious design was inspired by instrument design and echoes the Canadian landscape and is considered one of the most exciting architectural projects occurring in the world right now.

Clad in 220,000 custom glazed terra cotta tiles inside and out, the building gives a shimmering quality that comes alive when lit.  Two spiral staircases loop up from the main lobby and offer the best views of Architect Brad Clopefils design, which was inspired by instruments and the mountain landscape of Western Canada.

The venue offers stunning spaces such as the Skybridge which connects Studio Bell’s two towers and is a great spot for a cocktail receptions or the King Eddy, an infamous live music venue and blues haunt was restored by the National Music Centre and is now a flexible 2,500 sq. ft. event space.

From fashions shows, to trade shows, to large corporate events or weddings, the entire environment is fully customize right down to the 300-seat Performance Hall, which features fully retractable seating.  Recently, Studio Bell hosted the 2016 JUNO Awards Opening Reception.
