Just a few weeks ago, the creative and talented team at FOS Décor put their imagination into over drive and treated their best clients and colleagues to the evening of unbridled Euphoria. The occasion? The grand opening of their new head office at 160 Confederation Parkway in Vaughan.
Inspired by the silver screen, the team wanted to create a whimsical atmosphere, taking elements from the famous Tim Burton movies. The theme was over the top, upside down and topsy turvy. Just the way they planned it. Guests entered through a black tunnel and were greeted with a fresh berries glass of champagne; which led into the main Euphoria Room. Everything was done in an unusual way. The washrooms had photos of Tim Burton Characters on the walls, Manzanita trees with different color ribbon hung upside down from the ceiling, spandex neon towers hung upside down from the ceiling and quirky pieces were presented in the most unlikely places. A custom dance floor was designed by Dance Floor décor that matched the black and white swirl on the invitation for the event.
The main room was custom colour washed throughout the evening in colors of Purple, Pink, Orange and Green which changed along with the entertainment and music. Furniture included stand-alone lounges in silver and back with chrome end tables and coffee tables. What Tim Burton-inspired party would be complete without creatively streaming Tim Burton films on our Contemporary DJ Booth; compiled by The Visual Element Video Production.
Catering provided by The Magnolia Event Boutique included an eclectic mix of delicacies custom designed to complement the theme.
Menu highlights included, items such as Grilled lamb chops with Merlot Jus, Lobster spring rolls with plum dip, smoked salmon on potato latkes, mushroom & Goat strudel, butternut Squash & Risotto Ball, Mini Mac and Cheese, mini Grilled White cheddar and Avocado Sandwich & Roast Beef & Grilled Asparagus Bundle.Each dish was named after an inspired character from a Tim Burton Film, Names like Branded Skellington for Grilled lamb chops with Merlot Jus and Lobster spring rolls with plum dip aptly called Scissorhands with Bettlejuice Dip delighted guests. Especially popular was the Wonka Strudel and the Mini Mac and Cheese: Jabberwocky.
And what’s a party without some custom cocktails? Magnolia created a unique twist to the bar with one of a kind custom candy drinks. Beer was served in Milk shake glasses, alcoholic drinks were served in red wine Goblets, Wine was served in black water goblets. Everything was the opposite of what it should have been adding yet another whimsical touch.
Entertainment included 5 “doll characters” on raised pedestals, rotating both location and costume throughout the evening, a cirque performance by a2d2, rockstar photobooth and DJ MikeO and Mega Magic- Mike D’Urzo
