Canadian Steamship Lines: A Night of Jazz, Casino, and Culinary Showdowns at the Hockey Hall of Fame

Recently, Canadian Steamship Lines (CSL) hosted an unforgettable corporate event at the iconic Hockey Hall of Fame, with catering experience by Eatertainment Events & Catering. The evening was a Jazzy Casino Night, blending the elegance of live jazz, the thrill of high-stakes gaming, and a bold, black, gold, and red aesthetic.

The Hockey Hall of Fame set the perfect stage for this celebration, providing a historic, immersive environment that paid tribute to Canada’s deep-rooted love for hockey. Its versatile event spaces allowed for a seamless blend of entertainment, décor, and culinary storytelling, creating a dynamic atmosphere for guests to enjoy.

While the event featured many engaging elements, the catering experience by Toronto’s famed Eatertainment Catering & Special Events was a true standout. Our team took the theme to the next level with a unique culinary concept—rivalling food stations inspired by the Original Six NHL arenas. Each station presented a head-to-head showdown between iconic hockey city flavours, such as:

New York-style hot dogs vs. Montreal poutine
Chicago deep-dish pizza vs. Detroit-style square pizza
Boston lobster rolls vs. Toronto peameal bacon sliders

This playful yet elevated approach added an interactive and competitive edge to the dining experience, making food a central part of the night’s excitement.

Eatertainment worked closely with Conservus, the event production team, to ensure that every aspect of the evening aligned with the overarching vision. The night was elevated by a live jazz performance from the Tiffany Jazz Trio, setting the mood with smooth, sophisticated melodies and paired with a fun casino station, courtesy of Abbey Road Entertainment, bringing the thrill of Vegas-style gaming to the heart of Toronto.
