Masha’s 40th Birthday Party: Bold, Sultry, and Unapologetically Fabulous

Winner of Best Private Social Event at the 2025 Canadian Event Awards, Masha’s 40th Birthday Party was a blend of immersive design and bold storytelling.

Tasked with creating an extravagant celebration that embodied the guest of honour’s passion for red, roses, and luxury, R5 Event Design Inc. and Elena Knysh – Your Effortless Events provided an experience that was visually stunning and profoundly personal.

Held in a North York venue, the space was completely transformed with rich red velvet draping on every wall, gold accents throughout, and warm, sultry lighting that created an atmosphere of indulgence. The layout was thoughtfully designed to maximize impact in a narrow venue, featuring two serpentine black mirror acrylic tables trimmed in gold, forming a striking centrepiece.

Each table showcased lush red rose arrangements, crystal candles, and oversized chandeliers hanging directly above, casting a soft glow across the custom tablescapes. Black glassware, gold charger plates, velvet chairs, and low florals completed the look, blending modern luxury with timeless elegance.

A velvet-lined photo lounge featuring antique gold end tables and overhead chandeliers provided the ultimate photo opportunity. Positioned for high visibility, it offered a glamorous backdrop that tied seamlessly into the overall design.

The entertainment was just as meticulously curated. Guests enjoyed live jazz, sultry go-go dancers, a powerhouse singer, a high-energy DJ, and vibrant Brazilian performers—each act timed to keep the energy high and the dance floor packed. Despite the indulgent aesthetic, sustainability and accessibility were priorities. Battery-powered LED chandeliers and flameless candles adorned the venue, while fewer tables and open pathways facilitated easy movement for all guests.

From planning to execution, every detail of Masha’s 40th Birthday Party was managed with precision. The result was a visually spectacular, emotionally resonant celebration that reflected the guest of honour’s personality and style while raising the bar for milestone events.
