A supplier took my dad and me out for dinner in Toronto’s Little Italy not long after we moved to Mississauga in the late 80s from Sherwood Park, Alberta. The experience was completely different from anything I’d known, and I loved everything about it.
From the neighbourhood to the busy streets to the animated patio conversations; to the smell of the food every time we passed another restaurant, we didn’t have anything like this in Sherwood Park.
Ever since then, I’ve made an effort to seek out the best Italian food wherever I go, so when good friend Janice Cardinale VEMM bragged to me about Quadro Ristorante, located at 577 College St, I thought I’d take a closer look.
Brought to market by Tony Longo & Joseph Mimran Quadro is a cool modern, sleek and charming space featuring a simple, authentically Italian menu designed by consulting Chef Christine Mast and cooked to perfection in a kitchen led by veteran chef Nick Delia.
The menu at Quadro is an experience in gastronomy. I’ve been to this restaurant several times, and it never disappoints. Tony, the host and co-owner, is incredible at making you feel important and welcome.
From the moment you enter, energy permeates the space, but my absolute favourite is the patio. It’s a lush hideaway that feels like a private backyard, and I look forward to my next visit and sharing this fabulous culinary experience with friends and family.
That’s pretty big praise from Janice, who knows a thing or two about good Italian food and the next time I’m in Toronto, I’ll be sure to make a reservation.
For more information, check out the links above, and if anyone was wondering, nope, this is not a paid post; I really am just a fan of great Italian food, and thanks again to Janice for bringing this excellent spot to my attention.
