Building Relationships at Ottawa Meet Week

Digital Event experiences will evolve and get better, but nothing can replace being there live and in person. That was proven again during Ottawa Meet Week, which took place in early spring and was one of our industry’s first major in-person events in more than two years.

Judging by the smiles on Miranda Ji, CMPPaul Bugge, and Candace Schierling, the folks at Cities in Sync would certainly agree with that.

Teams from Destination Greater VictoriaTourism Saskatoon & Destination St. John’s, spent the week engaging with the community, making new friends, catching up on the latest trends, and reconnecting with the industry at large.  Relationships were nurtured through unhurried conversations that led to new ideas, opportunities, and, most importantly, new business.

Each destination was eager to brag about newly renovated hotels, unique event spaces, and upgraded meeting experiences that leveraged their natural beauty.

From the beautiful waterfront in Victoria to the wide-open skies of Saskatoon to the down-home hospitality of St John’s, the Cities in Sync team made a great argument for hosting your next destination.

The major gathering for the destination community in more than two years was a big success that will return value for those who attended and those who exhibited for years. Why? Because we believe that relationships built on a handshake drive bottom-line numbers.

The most powerful testimonial, though, is the smiles on the faces of all three teams in the pictures below. Next year, we definitely will be there in person.
