When Michelle Garber and Tamara Niyazov from Fab Fête Event Planning Boutique joined the team from FOS Rental Group for their first client meeting, it was clear this project was going to be a labour of love.
The goal was to create an epic celebration for a young girl in love with fashion, music, and celeb style. Shelley wanted a fun and festival themed event but she also wanted glamour and of course her favourite colours – tiffany blue and lilac. So what better way to put those things together than to throw her an upscale version of her very own Coachella, aptly called Shellchella for Shelly Altman.
As guests entered, they were greeted by 8-foot tall floral mannequin ladies while a towering unicorn stood proudly next to colorful balloons cascading from the grand piano. This magical wonderland created a stunning entryway.
Custom signposts boxwood walls, draping, and florals accented the look while 1,000 balloons floated effortlessly over the dance floor.
The tables were dressed in lilac dupioni linen adding a little texture with tiffany blue napkins and silver accents. The inspiration for the centerpieces came from flower crowns, synonymous with Coachella.
An ombre wreath of florals in pink tones dripping with floating crystals surrounded the base of one design while the other boasted a floral ombre crown in purple tones with lilac, silver and tiffany blue ribbons with sparkling diamantes in the center.
Over the monogrammed dancefloor, varied sized white balloons formed a canopy, from which tiffany blue, lilac and silver tassels hung, allowing guests to dance under their custom designed sky.
Lifesize food truck facades were built on site inspired by the food being served. Bars were vinyled showcasing the theme of the evening, “Shellchella”. A swing lush with florals provided the perfect photo opportunity for guests at the side of the dance floor.
